Empowering the Next Generation through the Outdoors

Dear friends,

We are thrilled to bring you the latest updates from Father’s Tracks. While summer has officially come to a close, kids are back in school, and cool crisp mornings are becoming more frequent and we can’t help but look back with gratitude at what this past season has meant for our ministry. The summer months were filled with exciting adventures, meaningful connections, and countless opportunities for young men to grow in character and leadership.

A recent study just came out that says the average teenager spends over 8 hours per day behind the screen. Yes you heard that right…..8 HOURS. Friends this is an epidemic! The effects the screen is having on our kids is detrimental and is attributed to sleep problems, lower grades in school, weight problems, mood problems, poor self esteem, body image issues, impaired social skills, behavioral problems and the list goes on. What is the answer? Getting kids outside, building relationships with people and connecting with God through His creation.

That’s what we are doing!

This summer has been nothing short of extraordinary for Father's Tracks. In June, we held our first annual Junior Family Day at the ranch—a day filled with joy, excitement, and connection. Families gathered for activities that brought out the adventurer in everyone. Kids reeled in their first fish, threw axes on our newly built lanes, shot arrows like Robin Hood, and tested their marksmanship at our brand-new BB gun range. All of this was made possible thanks to the hard work and generosity of our incredible community, who continue to support and make this mission possible.

Soon after, we hosted our second annual Junior Fishing Derby at The Rim Rock Ranch in Old Station, CA. Over 50 kids experienced the thrill of the catch, and for some, the excitement of catching their very first fish. It's moments like these—when a child lights up with pride after landing that first catch—that remind us why we do what we do. The day was filled with laughter, camaraderie, and the joy of being outdoors, with a few lucky kids walking away with special prizes.

The rest of spring and summer saw our young men testing their skills and growing in character through turkey hunts, bass and crappie fishing, bow fishing adventures, and hunter safety courses. Our junior high summer camp and high school backpacking trip were highlights, as both revolved around the theme of "silence and solitude." These experiences helped the boys unplug from the noise of daily life and connect with nature, with each other, and with God. Whether they were reeling in a fish, hiking through the mountains, or simply gazing at the stars by a campfire, many of these young men encountered God in ways that will leave a lasting impact.

As we step into the fall season, we are again filled with gratitude for the unforgettable moments of summer, knowing that the seeds planted in the hearts of these young men will bear fruit for years to come.

Lastly, we want to thank the many of you who have invested in the lives of these young people. We covet your prayers, encouragement and continued support!
